I'm furter than this, but i upload that soon, i'ts about all the things you don't realy see.
The stuff behind the model you mostly see when it's textured and animated. Rigging and uv-mapping are realy time consuming, but later on it will pay off :D
Ah and i really have to start with his face, though i kind of like this order of workin now,
so i can purely focus on the body, and don't get distracted bij a face all the time :)
I realy underestimated the difficulty of building a robot in 3D..
ReplyDeleteThe hands an leggs realy were a pain to model and rig to make it work. Becouse, for instance Hands and it's skin of humans can deform to fit when bend, but with the robot it's all fixed, or well i wanted it all fixed and hard shaped :) But overall i'm kinda happy, especialy with the hands i quess :)
It looks very nice! He has round shapes, but he has sharp edges though. I like the round shapes / sharp edges -contrast.
ReplyDeleteI don't even think he needs a real face. I think only 2 illuminating rectangle eyes will work either. You can make a lot of face expressions with two eyes.
Well done!
Ah cool that you also think about the face like that, i was already planing to just give him 2 eyes, not a mouth or whatever :)
ReplyDeleteAnd btw thanx for the compliment :) It was kind of hard to combine hard "robot" like shapes together with flowing shapes. Everything had to be modelled very tight (edgeloops etc) becouse it can happen too fast that it gets too organic, like skin or something..
...Now if i can only get that freakin computer on time lol!
Laters!
Nice work master. And indeed, your fresh computer had to get here ASAP
